Commonwealth Climate Finance Health Adviser
The scope of work for the Commonwealth Health Climate Finance Adviser is expected to contribute to technical leadership in the theme of health and climate change, policy support, contributing to relevant project preparation, capacity building, knowledge generation and sharing. It will entail the following amongst others:
- Providing and or contributing to technical leadership on health -climate nexus,
- Providing support for the development of policies, plans and frameworks that integrate health,
- Supporting project development including readiness support, project ideas, concept notes and proposals integrating health,
- Undertaking capacity building for regional and national actors to strengthen the integration of health in climate policies, strategies and commitments and vice versa,
- Contribute to knowledge generation and sharing especially on the climate-health links.

To be considered, you will need to have a post-graduate qualification (Master’s degree is essential) in any of the following: Public Health, Medicine, Environmental Science and Management, Climate Change, Economics, Science Communications, and/or any other relevant discipline related to Sustainable Development.
You will need to have at least 8 years professional experience, preferably within an international development context. You will also need knowledge on health, environment and climate change processes (development and implementation) particularly climate finance; a strong understanding of health imperatives and trends with relevant field and policy experience in a developing country context; strong analytical and writing skills; excellent interpersonal and diplomatic skills; a demonstrated ability to take initiative, lead on tasks, think strategically, be innovative, and translate ideas into actions; and a proven ability to deliver under time constraints, work in a matrix environment, and have a proactive approach to problem-solving. Fluency in both written and spoken English is essential.
