The key purpose of this job is to have strong technical knowledge of the stock process and understands the link between the various Syspro transactions and automatic stock adjustments. She /He understands the dispatch, receipt and invoicing processes and their impact on theoretical stock. She/He enjoys the fact that a large part of his job is routine – but the reward of investigating and resolving a stock variance successfully is what really keeps him/her motivated. Takes stock availability and quality for the depot personally and takes a pre-emptive approach to ensure that these standards are met – understanding the customer service impact. Coaches’ depot staff on best stock management processes.

Key outputs and responsibilities:

Stock Quality & availability

  • Daily review of stock availability, engaging with planning to resolve and communicating to sales teams
  • Stock age management, ensuring out of age spec product plans are developed and concessions requested and tracked. Conducting stock rotation inspections and ensuring stock age verification happening at receipt and decanting where necessary.
  • Create Bin pulling sheet and issue to Logistics Co-coordinators
  • Capture MB&F results daily and share with Customer Service Manager weekly
  • Ensure extra outer packaging is available for damaged packaging
  • Management for frozen stock, ex-trade and ex-warehouse
  • Consolidate monthly Diesel usage recharge
  • Quarterly BCP review
  • Attending Depot and DLT meetings where required
  • Training, policies acknowledged
  • Management of handhelds
  • Weekly packaging meeting

InventoryManagement

  • Walk the site, collecting all previous day’s documents and ensuring stock “housekeeping” complete (UBR’s, FBR’s returned to stock, assembled stock verified)
  • Print pre-stock count reports, addressing non-compliance where necessary
  • Complete stock count/verification process making necessary adjustments
  • Investigate unaccountable variances
  • Print and complete variance report commentary and review with depot manager together with other control reports.
  • Review gates register to daily load plan
  • Process stock adjustments for breakages and sorted containers
  • Follow up Inter depot In transit shipments
  • Process route settlement corrections and assign reasons for variances
  • Robust filing system maintained
  • POD queries resolved

GovernanceandRisk

  • Review and sign off Invoice controls, stock controls, daily controls and security occurrence book exceptions.
  • Product recall exercises conducted, and actual recalls actioned
  • Log claims with planning for any in-transit losses
  • Verify gate register to load plan

MinimumRequirements:

  • Degree in Commerce, Logistics /CIPS and any other related
  • 3 years Experience in warehousing and inventory management
  • Good stakeholder management capabilities
  • Ability to take the initiative and drive continuous improvement
  • Demonstrated analytical ability
  • Excellent presentation and written communication skills
  • Ability to solve complex problems individually and quickly
  • Ideal candidate would have experience in finance, management   accounting, business analytics or supply chain logistics planning.
  • Must be capable of influencing and communicating effectively cross   functionally with middle and senior management
