CONSULTING SERVICES – INDIVIDUAL CONSULTANT (IC) SELECTION

The Government of the Kingdom of Lesotho has received financing from the African Development Fund and the Global Environment Facility-Least Developed Countries Fund (GEF LCDF) and provided Counterpart funding toward the cost of the Lesotho Lowlands Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Project (LLRWSSP) implemented through the Ministry of Natural Resources, and intends to apply part of the funds for the payments under the contract for the position of the Environment and Social Safeguards Officer.

The objective of this position is to assist the Executing Agency in addressing all issues relating to the environmental and social aspects of the Project as detailed in the Terms of Reference to ensure compliance with the African Development Bank`s safeguard policies and the Government of Lesotho`s Environment and Social legislation.

The selection criteria include:

1. At Least University degree BSC in Environmental Sciences/ Environmental Management/Environmental Health/ Environmental Engineering. A Master’s Degree will be an added advantage.

2. Experience in construction supervision of Contractors, Engineers and Consultants on management of environment, social, health and safety aspects for water and sanitation infrastructure development projects

3. A minimum of 5 years’ experience in the field of environmental and social management at national level or international organization,

Interested candidates are required to submit their (a) Expression of Interest (EOI), (b) Detailed updated CV (inclusive of certified copies of educational and professional certificates), and (c) Reference Letters from at least three (3) referees.

The contract will be for the period of ten (10) months.

Eligibility criteria, establishment of the short-list and the selection procedure shall be in accordance with the African Development Bank’s Procurement Framework, which is available on the Bank’s website at http://www.afdb.org.
